How it works
As with most TCM acupuncture-based techniques, working with active points in the selected zones is regarded as a way of supporting the flow of the vital energy Qi and the work of the nervous system. The doctor defines the five treatment zones individually, based on the child's condition and rehabilitation goals.
What parents should know
A session lasts 10–20 minutes and is given twice a week, with a course of 5–6 sessions. The method is used as part of the centre's comprehensive programme — alongside acupuncture, physical therapy and other procedures. Before the course starts a doctor examines the child, confirms the indications and selects the treatment zones individually.

Preparation
The skin in the treatment zones is cleaned with antiseptic; an assistant and a parent help the child stay calm and still.
The session
The doctor works the selected zones with targeted stimulation. The session lasts 10–20 minutes and is supervised by a specialist.
Observation and repeat course
The child stays under observation afterwards. The course is 5–6 sessions, twice a week; a repeat course is prescribed by the doctor based on progress.
