One or two days before departure, send the coordinator a photo of your tickets and the exact arrival time on WhatsApp — that is enough for the car to be sent to meet your flight.
If your child uses a specialised wheelchair, if you need a child car seat, or if you are travelling as a large family with bulky luggage, tell the coordinator while agreeing the dates so that a suitable car is arranged.
The pick-up and interpreter support are part of the organisational services and are stated in the invoice in advance. Transfer arrangements for a connection in another city, trips during the course and the journey home are worth agreeing with the manager before departure.
Useful tips
- If the flight is delayed or the luggage goes missing, just message the coordinator — the driver will wait
- For infants and children up to 12 kg it is easier to bring your own infant carrier seat
- If you are reaching Yuncheng by train or with a connection in another city rather than by direct flight, tell the coordinator in advance so the pickup can be arranged separately
The first days without Chinese
The language barrier is more frightening in anticipation than it is in practice. You do not need to know Chinese or English: an interpreter accompanies the family — at the first assessment, at the doctor's consultations and during sessions. Everyday matters go through the interpreter too: speaking to the administrator, a trip to the bank, buying a SIM card, requests about the apartment.
Ask the coordinator to send you the hospital address and your housing address in Chinese characters and save them in your phone notes: that is enough to show a taxi driver and get home without explanations.

There is Wi-Fi in the hospital and in most cafes and shopping centres, and payments almost everywhere go through WeChat Pay or Alipay. Setting up payments and connectivity is easiest during the first days on the spot — the interpreter will go to the bank with you and explain the method that works today.
