Flying to China

There are no direct international flights to Yuncheng: the route is built with a connection at one of China's international airports, followed by a domestic flight or a high-speed train. Message the coordinator before you buy tickets and he will suggest a convenient option for your departure city and dates.

Find a flight to the hospital from your city

Choose your departure city — we'll open live flights and prices on Trip.com. The clinic's coordinator will then help with the route, connections and the airport pick-up.

If you don't pick a date, we'll show flights about a month ahead — it's easy to change in the search calendar.

How the route is planned

The nearest airport to the hospital is Yuncheng Airport, and the drive from there to the hospital takes about 20 minutes. However, there are no direct international flights to it: the city airport handles domestic flights only, so the route is built with a connection at one of China's international airports.

A combined option also works — a flight to a large city and then a high-speed train, as Yuncheng has a railway station. Which option works better depends on your departure city, your dates and on how well your child copes with travelling — so we do not name a single "correct" route.

Do not pick the route blindly: message us before you buy tickets and we will suggest a convenient option for your departure city and dates. Once the tickets are booked, send the coordinator a photo of them and the exact arrival time — that is all we need to arrange the pickup.

Useful tips

  • Tickets are cheapest when booked 60–90 days before departure
  • An economy fare with one checked bag usually covers what a rehabilitation course requires
  • Do not buy non-refundable tickets before the visa is actually in the passport
  • If you are reaching Yuncheng by train or with a connection in another city, tell the coordinator in advance so the pickup can be arranged separately

What to pack in your carry-on

Flying with a child is a task of its own. Everything important is better carried in the cabin rather than in checked luggage:

Documents: the passports of everyone travelling, printed tickets, the hospital invitation and invoice, copies of internal passports and the original of the child's birth certificate — it proves the family relationship.

Medical records: scans, test results and the most recent discharge summaries — the doctor will need them at the first assessment. Keep copies on a flash drive and in the cloud.

3x4 cm photos on a white background, a couple for each traveller: in the first days the administrator submits passports and photos for residence registration — a mandatory formality for foreigners in China.

Medication for the journey: if your child takes prescribed medicines, muscle relaxants or special nutrition, carry at least a 5–7 day supply in the cabin, plus the doctor's prescription (in English or with a certified translation).

A change of clothes and nappies — for long flights with one or two connections it is worth having a full set.

A favourite toy or a tablet with cartoons — reduces anxiety during take-off and landing, especially for children with ASD or sensory disorders.

Travel adapters: China uses type A, C and I sockets — a universal adapter will not go to waste.

Chinese carriers offer children's meals — order one when booking the ticket, as it may not be available on board otherwise.
